Nicola is an Italian animator living in Montreal and currently working at Mikros Animation and teaching animation principles at ESMA Montreal. 

After obtaining his Masters in 3D content creation he got his first internship as an animator working on small productions.  He then spent time working around Europe developing a quick and efficient workflow adapted to the tight deadlines of TV shows.

In the meantime Nicola kept working on his skills in both drawing and animation developing a specialty in gesture and figure drawing. 

In 2015 Nicola got the chance to help L'Atelier Animation team to finish the feature film Ballerina (Leap in US) in Montreal and then moved to a role at Mikros Animation on Captain Underpants for Dreamworks animation.  During the next seven years he's explored vfx creature animation on shows like His Dark Materials (HBO) and Fantastic Beasts the Crimes of Grindelwald (WB), lead teams of animators on Paw Patrol the Movie (Mikros Animation for Spin Masters) and Under The Boardwalk (Dneg for Paramount Animation), worked on the feature Nimona (completed by Dneg animation for Netflix) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles installment, Mutant Mayhem (with Mikros for Paramount Animation). 

Nicola is a strong believer of the power of posing in the storytelling process, the ability to capture the essence of an action through a single drawing\pose is critical to build solid foundations for your animation.
