Building on your foundation of animating characters with dialogue, this advanced course takes you deeper into the art of two-character performances. You’ll learn how to craft authentic interactions that go beyond spoken lines—showing characters thinking, feeling, and truly coming to life. Across six structured classes, you’ll explore advanced planning, subtext, and character specificity while mastering both video-reference-based workflows and techniques for pushing your acting choices without reference. From golden poses and directing the viewer’s attention, to adding texture, subtlety, and final polish, you’ll gain the skills to deliver compelling, cinematic performances that tell a richer story.
Course Breakdown
Class 1: Deep dive into planning, advanced subtext, character specificity, and video reference
Class 2: Golden poses, pushing your poses with emotion
Class 3: Two character blocking, directing the viewer's attention
Class 4: Keeping our performance through the spline, increasing our 2 character clarity

OVERVIEW

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Jordan Barg
Jordan Barg is an animator from Montreal currently working at Walt Disney Animation in Vancouver.
His career began with internships at two of the top feature film studios in the world: Sony Pictures Imageworks and Blue Sky Studios, where he learned the ins and outs of working in an animation studio while being mentored by the incredible artists who worked there.
After graduating from Seneca College in Toronto in 2019, Jordan started work on his first feature film, 2020's SCOOB! at ReelFX back in his hometown of Montreal. Following that he went to Tangent Animation to work on Netflix's Maya and the Three, and continued working with Netflix when he moved to Sony Pictures Imageworks to work on The Sea Beast and Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse. He´s currently an animator at Walt Disney Animation.
