Course Breakdown
Week 1:
In depth talk about acting in the eyes

Show examples of different mouth shapes and their meaning

Genuine vs fake
Pairing different eyes with different mouth shapes and seeing how each pairing can
drastically change the emotion.
Understanding shape language in the body to reflect the emotion

Week 2:
In-depth talk about breathing and how that can help with the emotional change
Demo on breathing
Week 3:
Talk about the “in-between” emotion that can exist between emotions A and B.

Weight and timing and how that helps with emotion.

ABOUT THE MENTOR
Kevin Nguyen
Kevin Nguyen is a freelance animator in New York City with over 10 years of experience working professionally. He got his big break into feature film starting out as a Disney Apprentice. He then continued onto Sony Imageworks where he worked on several projects such as Angry Birds, Storks, and The Emoji Movie. He also had an opportunity to learn the lego style of animation when he joined Animal Logic on the production of Ninjago. He then made the leap over to freelancing and had many opportunities working for studios all over the world. Some notable projects he’s had the privilege to work on are several Valorant cinematics, Blizzard cinematics, and the “Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire” series on Disney+.
